This is great news!!

Last week we alerted you that the recent short-lived Matthew Perry series Mr. Sunshine was coming to DVD in November, as part of Sony’s “Screen Classics By Request” MOD (manufacture-on-demand) program. The studio announcement hasn’t come in for this item yet, but we got our info from a pre-order listing at Amazon.com! At the time the release date was showing November 15th, for a single-disc set priced at $20.95 SRP. Now the Amazon listing has been updated to show November 1st for a 2-DVD set, priced at $30.99 SRP (but discounted from there). Package art still hasn’t come to light for Mr. Sunshine, but we do have a new studio-provided description of the item for you, quoted below, which mentions a total of 13 episodes included on the set, counting 4 unaired installments among them!

Matthew Perry (TV’s “Friends”) returns to sitcoms with this droll workplace comedy, which he co-created and co-produced. He plays Ben Donovan, the manager of a San Diego basketball arena that also hosts a variety of other events, each weirder than the next. He does his job well, but his interaction with his co-workers – the arena’s prickly owner (four-time Emmy Award-winner Allison Janney, TV’s “The West Wing”) and her bumbling son, Ben’s soon-to-be-ex-girlfriend (Andrea Anders, TV’s “Better Off Ted”) and good pal (James Lesure, TV’s “Las Vegas”), and an unstable secretary – is less rosy. Also includes guest stars such as Lizzy Caplan, Jimmy Connors, Nick Jonas and James Taylor. Contains all 13 episodes – including four unaired! Created by Matthew Perry & Alex Barnow & Marc Firek.
