LeBlanc will be starring in a new series on Showtime, Episodes, and he isn’t looking to return for a Friends reunion. He says that if there were a reunion, he could see it being “almost sad.” He also made a good point: “What would the story be? We all get together and what? Have coffee?” He is right—it’s hard to imagine what exactly would happen in a reunion episode. When the series ended, Rachel and Ross were back together, Monica and Chandler had the twins and were moving out of the city, Phoebe had Mike (Paul Rudd), and Joey had a chick and a duck again. That was the perfect ending for the series, and as Matt LeBlanc puts it, “it’s better to just imagine what those characters are doing now.”

Tennis star Connors for ‘Mr. Sunshine’
Jimmy Connors is to make a guest appearance on forthcoming ABC sitcom Mr. Sunshine.
The comedy series will star Matthew Perry as Ben Donovan, a sports arena manager going through a mid-life crisis.
Entertainment Weekly reports that tennis star Connors will play himself in an upcoming storyline, in which Ben challenges his sports idol to a charity match.
Connors, a former world number one player and coach of Andy Roddick, retired from professional tennis in 1996.
Mr. Sunshine is expected to air on ABC during the 2010-2011 television season as a midseason replacement.
So…What Are the Other Friends Up to This week?
With Courteney Cox and David Schwimmer suddenly in the news, and Jennifer Aniston never out of it, WTF are the rest of the Friends gang up to?
—Gina, Upper Darby, Pa., via the inbox
Yep, Courteney Cox sure is all over the news. (Thanks for oversharing, David Arquette! Stay classy!) And of course, Schwimmer has slid into the headlines by sneaking in a wedding.
Aniston? Well, she’s always up to something.
As for Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and Lisa Kudrow, let’s just say:
The news has been mixed, with one cast member apparently not so thrilled to be associated with the ’90s show that made them all household names.
I speak in this case of LeBlanc, who reportedly got into a pissing match with reporters last month, during London Fashion Week. Granted, the report comes from the Mirror tabloid, so take the following supposed rant with a grain of salt:
“I’m not Joey. Don’t you dare call me Joey. The papers say I’m finished so don’t you call me f–king Joey. I want to leave that all behind. I’m moving on… I’m not Joey. For the last time. I’m not f–king Joey. It’s Matt. Matt LeBlanc. Joey’s in the past. I’m trying to do something new.”
Is he, though? Doing anything new?
Yes.
He just announced, about two weeks ago, that he has signed on for a Showtime series called Episodes. It starts shooting in January and is said to be a spoof on show business. LeBlanc also says he’s going to be playing a version of himself.
As for Lisa Kudrow—who has been with her husband for about 15 years, by the way—she hasn’t announced any new projects since Easy A came out a few weeks ago. But she has been making the party rounds. Just a few days ago, she attended a Beverly Hills shindig hosted by—get this—the general consul of France.
That leaves Matthew Perry.
His current situation appears to be a blend of Kudrow’s—he attended a Lili Claire benefit luncheon a couple of weeks ago—and LeBlanc’s. Why? Because, like LeBlanc, Perry has a TV series going on ABC.
The TV series, Mr. Sunshine, is currently shooting. Perry Tweeted September 26 that he was about to start shooting the third episode the following day. He added, “You guys will be the first to know when we get an air date.”
Now that is classy.
