Andrea Martin, Martha Plimpton, Martin Short and Matthew Perry are among the stars who will take part in a benefit presentation of Celebrity Autobiography Feb. 21, 2012, at Cal State University San Bernardino.

Presented as a benefit for the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital Foundation, Celebrity Autobiography will be offered at 5:30 PM and 8 PM. The Big Hearts For Little Hearts Desert Guild hosts the event.

Also scheduled to appear are Valerie Bertinelli, Craig Bierko, Florence Henderson, Lainie Kazan, Ryan Reynolds, and series creators Dayle Reyfel and Eugene Pack.

Autobiographies and memoirs that have been featured in previous presentations of Celebrity Autobiograpy include Sarah Palin, Carrie Prejean, Ozzy Osbourne, Patti LuPone, Tiger Woods, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Ivana Trump, Vanna White, Mr. T, Star Jones, Kenny Loggins, Tommy Lee, Sylvester Stallone, ‘N Sync, Zsa Zsa Gabor, David Cassidy, Neil Sedaka, Britney Spears, Madonna, Burt Reynolds, Loni Anderson, Elizabeth Taylor, Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.

Actor Matthew Perry, best known for his role on the NBC sitcom “Friends,” told The Daily Caller that people “realize now is not the greatest time to be selling” homes, but “it’s a good time to be buying.” Perry, however, would not comment on the capital gains tax rate which affects his profit on the sale of his own properties.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Perry recently sold one of his real estate and purchased another property in Los Angeles for more than $8 million.  Perry has approximately $22.045 million worth of real estate on the market.

TheDC asked Perry for his opinion on the current capital gains tax rate of 15 percent. The Obama administration has proposed raising it to 20 percent.

“These questions have to be asked of people who know more than me about this,” said Perry.

Before the interview, Perry participated in a forum at the Capitol on Thursday called “Drug Courts: A Proven Budget Solution.”

“In order to fund these drug courts, it costs $68 million to be able to properly fund, to be able to take care of the 1.2 million people who need drug courts — that’s what we’re here for — to ask for that,” Perry told TheDC.

“It’s a great sort of no-brainer, because it’s bipartisan. Everybody likes this idea; nobody’s against it. I think the only people that are against drug courts are private prison owners,” he said. “Those are the only people that would fight this.”

Actor Matthew Perry has bought a newly built custom house in the Sunset Strip area for $8.65 million.

Since his days as Chandler Bing on “Friends” (1994-2004), Perry starred in “17, Again” (2009) and the comedy series “Mr. Sunshine” (2011). The property he bought came on the market in April at $9.9 million.

“I’ve certainly had a lot of experiences in my life where I was much too self-centered,” Matthew Perry, 41, says in PARADE’s February 13 cover story. “I’d rather be me now than me at 20.”

The legions of fans who’ve missed the Friends star will be glad to know he’s back in prime time on ABC’s Mr. Sunshine, playing Ben Donovan, the 40-year-old general manager of a fictional San Diego arena and the personification of a mid-life crisis. Asked whether Ben and his Friends character, Chandler Bing, share traits, Perry says the likenesses are more between Ben and himself five years ago. “This show is going to be about the 9,000 mistakes Ben makes on the journey to becoming a real person who cares about other people.”

Perry has had some highly publicized battles with addiction, going to rehab in 1997 and 2001 for alcohol- and drug-abuse treatment. And one thing he has yet to make time for is marriage and a family. Will he finally settle down? Check out PARADE on Sunday to find out!

When it comes to recycling, better late than never. So realized Matthew Perry, star of ABC’s “Mr. Sunshine,” premiering Feb. 9. “I recently became the guy who’s recycling so I’m late to the party,” he admits, noting he was urged to do so by friends who pointed out the ease of trash separation, telling him, “All you have to do is this and this.” He’s also looking into getting a hybrid or electric car for his next vehicle.

In “Mr. Sunshine,” the former “Friend” plays the manager of a San Diego sports arena in a midlife crisis who’s trying to change his attitude. “I relate to a guy who’s trying to be a better person. That’s what his journey is,” notes Perry, whose last series was the drama “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” in 2006-2007, which he followed with a couple of middling movie roles. “I spent the last two years playing video games so I was raring to go back to work,” he admits.

Back in the comedy zone, he’s tackling one not filmed before a live audience for the first time and also serving as executive producer of the show. “The first thing I had to do was surround myself with talented people, which I did,” he says, noting that he’d met or worked with co-stars Andrea Anders, Nate Torrence and Allison Janney before. “As a producer I made a great move hiring her,” he says of Janney, who plays his wacky boss. “As an actor it’s not so great because she’s better than I am.”

In some hot local social news coverage, Denver Post social columnist Bill Husted reports that Matthew Perry, formerly of TV’s “Friends,” was in Frisco for the holidays.

Matthew was spotted partying at Upstairs at Jonny G’s on Main Street. He was staying with friends at “$#*! My Dad Says” star Nicole Sullivan’s house.

Nicole and husband Jason Packham, also an actor, have a home here. They are residents of California.

And media sources say they are both sporting new weight losses via Jenny Craig: Nicole dropped 35 pounds; Jason 25.

They are friends of new Town of Frisco event manager Jaime Harmon.

Jonny Greco, now 35 years old, opened in his popular well-into-the-evening nightspot in 2001 in what is new owner Michael Hilbert’s vastly improving Frisco Mall.

“I can actually confirm he was in Jonny G’s,” says the likeable Jonny of Matthew’s visit. “I poured the guy a drink and didn’t even know it was him — we were so busy,” he adds.

Matthew Perry fans will soon find him in ABC’s “Mr. Sunshine.”

Jonny relates that Nicole and Jason always stop by when in town, explaining the famous couple likes Frisco because the “local people respect them” and “don’t make a big deal” of their presence.

He also noted that Jonny G’s has undergone a remodel and now is a pizzeria in addition to a bar and nightclub. He calls the next level “Jonny G’s 2.0.”

Oldtimers will recall the place used to be GeJo’s Pizza, owned by Sandy Schmaderer and Barry Hansen.

LeBlanc will be starring in a new series on Showtime, Episodes, and he isn’t looking to return for a Friends reunion. He says that if there were a reunion, he could see it being “almost sad.” He also made a good point: “What would the story be? We all get together and what? Have coffee?” He is right—it’s hard to imagine what exactly would happen in a reunion episode. When the series ended, Rachel and Ross were back together, Monica and Chandler had the twins and were moving out of the city, Phoebe had Mike (Paul Rudd), and Joey had a chick and a duck again. That was the perfect ending for the series, and as Matt LeBlanc puts it, “it’s better to just imagine what those characters are doing now.”

The ABC comedy stars Matthew Perry as Ben, a sports arena manager who has an identity crisis on his 40th birthday.

Deadline says that Caplan will appear in the series as a woman who sleeps with Ben.

Ben is shocked when Caplan’s character turns up at his office the next day as the new assistant of his boss, who is played by Allison Janney.

Caplan previously starred in Mean Girls and has appeared in television shows including Party Down and True Blood.

Jimmy Connors and Jorge Garcia have also signed up to guest star on Mr Sunshine.
