| Matthew Perry Takes Credit For Sarcasm! | |
| By Aniek on Thursday, August 12, 2010 | |
|
MATTHEW Perry is proud that his role on Friends still influences modern language. The actor — who played Chandler Bing alongside Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox among others — takes credit for modern-day sarcasm. “It’s very flattering that it changed the way that people talked a little bit,” says Matthew. “It’s that sarcastic way of going about things. That is just really flattering.” Perry recently revealed he wants his former Friends costars to appear in his new show Mr Sunshine. “People ask a lot about guest stars but we’re a little bit early for that,” says Matthew. “There’s a lot of talk about will I ask some of my former cast mates to be on the show, and I think ultimately, yes. “In the third season then maybe some of them can come back, but I don’t want to use them as sort of a launching pad.” |

| Matthew in Fallout: New Vegas character voice shocker | |
| By Aniek on Thursday, August 12, 2010 | |
|
As Obsidian’s Fallout: New Vegas looms large on videogaming’s horizon, the game’s accompanying PR and marketing machine is clearly keen to use any snippet of information – regardless of how banal – to help push consumer awareness.
Case in point, the latest announcement designed to whet gamer appetites is that none other than former Friends star Matthew Perry will be lending his voice to Benny, the silver-tongued leader of the Geckos family (pictured above).
Let’s face it, if your videogame is in need of instant gravitas, you’d be mad to look any further afield than an actor who made his name playing the irritatingly sarcastic Chander Bing – in a sitcom that ended several years ago.
That being said, Perry’s vocal talents should slot right in alongside the likes of Zachary Levi (Chuck), Wayne Newton (Mr. Las Vegas), Michael Dorn (Star Trek: The Next Generation), and Felicia Day (The Guild).
“The voice acting provided by these actors helps drive the compelling and immersive story of Fallout and further adds to the overall gameplay experience,” commented Pete Hines, vice president of PR and Marketing at Bethesda Softworks, in a USA Today report.
If the prospect of listening to Matthew Perry’s dulcet tones somehow fails to stimulate your enthusiasm gland, other, more notable performers providing character voices in Fallout: New Vegas include the likes of Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Kris Kristofferson (The Blade Trilogy), and William Sadler (The Shawshank Redemption).
Fallout: New Vegas is a continuation of Bethesda’s critically acclaimed Fallout 3 and will be released on October 19 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Games for Windows.

| Matthew Perry at 40: Another ‘Friend’ Going Gray | |
| By Aniek on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 | |
|
Taking a page out of former costar Matt LeBlanc’s book, Matthew Perry refuses to work too hard at hiding the gray. Asked if he’d resist covering up any silver streaks, the handsome-as-ever actor, who turned 40 last year, told a Television Critics Association panel while touting his new ABC sitcom, Mr. Sunshine: “I think so, until it doesn’t look [right] … and then I’ll change it. But I’m fine with the fact that some of my hair is gray. I think if it was all gray overnight that would be scary.” The former Chandler Bing of Friends was equally relaxed about having hit the milestone last Aug. 19, saying, “It just happened a year ago. So, it’s okay.” Still, he’s had to make some lifestyle adjustments in order to stay fit at 40. “You end up doing stuff like hiking and going to the gym and all those things that you said you’d never do,” Perry admits, adding , “I haven’t played tennis in a while.” Instead, Perry says. “I play Wallyball. Wallyball is volleyball inside of a racquetball court. I play that often.” (The game, also known as rebound volleyball, actually takes it name from “wall” and “volleyball”). As for how else Perry now spends his spare time, he deadpans, “I just watch porn. That’s it … I actually like to hike now and I live near the ocean and I just kind of walk around and look at that. That’s nice.” One thing Perry won’t be doing anytime soon is reuniting with his Friends wife, Courteney Cox, on her show Cougar Town. “I sort of subscribe to that thing where I want a little bit of time to establish my character in this [upcoming sitcom]. I love the show. I think that Courteney is hilarious and obviously a really good friend of mine, but I just want there to be some more distance before we do that,” Perry says. “I didn’t think that people would be able to watch it and not see Chandler and Monica.” |

| Matthew Perry based new character on himself | |
| By Aniek on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 | |
|
Matthew Perry has put his troubled past behind him by basing his new TV character on his former self – revealing he spent years acting like “a selfish jerk.” The former “Friends” funnyman has grappled with numerous personal issues over the years, including alcohol addiction and prescription drug problems, and he’s convinced he wasn’t a “nice” person. Perry is adamant he’s now changed, and he’s poured his past experiences into writing new TV show “Mr. Sunshine,” which will see him play a womanizing sports manager suffering a mid-life crisis. And the actor admits he based the character on himself. He tells Reuters, “This character is me, like five years ago, before any possible enlightenment could have come into my life. I am very in touch with that kind of selfish guy who is trying to have a better life and how confused a selfish person would get if he were told that the way to have a better life is to be nicer to people. “The guy is just learning now not to be a selfish jerk… They say, write what you know. So that’s an interesting road to go on – changing terrible behavior to being a better guy… I knew if I wrote something that would be a component of it. I am much nicer now!” “Mr. Sunshine” will debut in early 2011. Source: SFGate |

| Check Out 2 Clips ‘Mr. Sunshine’ | |
| By Aniek on Saturday, June 12, 2010 | |
|
There are certainly a lot of new shows hitting both network and basic cable TV this Summer and Fall. Some that we’re pretty excited for, and some we can’t wait to miss (looking at you, The Cape). One of the shows that looks to have some promise is ABC’s upcoming half-hour comedy Mr. Sunshine. The show stars Matthew Perry as Ben Donovan, a sports arena manager who goes through a mid-life crisis right after his 40th birthday, all while dealing with the oddball employees and demands that his job presents. Helping out Perry is a pretty solid cast of TV regulars like West Wing favorite Allison Janney, Las Vegas’s Nate Torrence and James Lesure, Better Off Ted’s Andrea Anders, and even Portia Doubleday for good measure. While the cast alone should be enough to get us excited, we’re more psyched by the fact that the show is being written by TV veteran Thomas Schlamme and Perry himself. Fans of Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip know that this team is quite impressive when at their peak, so we can’t wait to see more. Check out two new clips and a sneak preview of the show after the jump, and stay with ABC this October, as Mr. Sunshine makes it’s debut

We have an awesome combination of celebrity Doodlers and superb artists, illustrators, cartoonists and caricaturists for a total of 164 doodles. These doodles have a very important aim: the funds they raise will benefit NF, Inc., an organization dedicated to providing support to individuals and families affected by neurofibromatosis (NF). Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that affects one in every 2,500 births. NF is more common than Cystic Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy and Huntington’s Disease combined. Funds raised from the Doodle Day auction will go to support education, advocacy, coalitions, and research for treatments and a cure. Links: Some of the more well-known doodlers…
